Attean and Matt have a good relationship in the forest together. They both hunt, fish, and do more stuff together and they both get along very well. Also Atteans grandfather gave Matt a pair of snowboots that were brand new which means Attean and Atteans Grandfather both care about Matt. Matt and Attean will be friends forever is what I think because Matt has never had the expeirience to meet an Indian before on his vacation down the Penobscot river to the north. When Matt's dad picks Matt up, I think Matt will get Attean and his grandfather something for a thanks for care gift. Then matt and Attean will keep writing or talking to each other over the summer, fall, and winter since Matt only goes to the forest down North every spring for 6 weeks. Matt and Attean have a happy, blistful relationship I think.

Matt and Attean have a very good relationship. At the beginning of the story Attean wasn't really nice to Matt. After time went on they started to like each other more. Attean's grandmother dasen't like whit men so whenever Matt sees her she is never happy that her grandson is hanging out with a white man. Attean's grandmother dosen't like Matt because one day while Attean's mother was in the woods hunting abiut to kill aome type of animal a grou[ of white men killed her. Some relationships are bad and good in The Sign Of The Beaver.

I agree kittycat34, Matt and Attean have a very good relationship. Without Attean Matt would not know how to hunt that good. Then Matt would starve and and die. When Matt's parent's get home they care for Matt a whole lot. While his parent's were gone his mother was worried sick about Matt. Relationships are very good in this story.
