love that dog is a great book it is full of enthusiastic poetry. if you like sad endings and poetry full of laughter you will love this book as much as i do!
Kittycat22, Who do you think Jack is? How would you describe the setting? Think about what Jack has written so far - what can you tell about his personality? What words would you use to describe him?
jack is probobly the one who has to write a poem for class. the setting of the story is really pictured in your head when jack goes in the blue car to go to the animal shelter. the really cute part is when jack and his dad go to the animal shelter they found a yellow dog just like in the poen jack read at school.
This book has been great so far. I agree with kittycat14 because this book does have enthusiastic poetry and is fun. If you do not like poetry I would not read this book, but if you like reading poetry the way i do, you should read this book.
this book is great and has a sad ending. The sad ending has so something to do with a dog named "Sky" getting killed. Then Jack writes a poem about his dog sky. When Mr.Walter Dean Myers comes to Jack's school, Jack hopes he does not see the out his poem about his dog getting killed. He believes it might makes Mr.Walter Dean Myers to sad.

kittycat14,
Love that Dog is a great book- but get your tissues ready when the sad part comes - you will need them.
What words would you use to describe Jack? Think about what and how much he writes - what do you already know about him?

kittycat14,
Can you picture in your head the yellow dog that Jack got? What do you think are Jack's feelings about the dog?
