the piece of the story that says ''i dont have any pets says that when he was going to write the poem he wanted to write about an animal but he could'nt.Jack could'nt write about a animal because he dosen't have one but he used to so his pet was a yellow dog but didn't look anything like the yellow dog in the poem he read at school.
When Jack was going to brainstorm about his poem he was going to write he thought about the animal thing he thought if i dont have a pet just pretend i do so he thought a tiger? or a hamster? a goldfish? turtle? snail? worm? flea? i think he thought those arent house pets so maybe he thought maybe a wild animal would be good for my assigned work.
